Location of Picture:

Stockings:  The color (black) of the stockings make her legs look skinnier.

Positioning:  The positioning of the actress is extremely awkward.

Outfit:  I think it’s a little odd that the stockings end where they do because the dress suggests a formal night out while the stockings suggest that she wants to stay in and have ‘fun.’ 

Shoes:  The thicker part of the stocking near the foot suggests that heels should be worn even though the model is not actually wearing both shoes.

Bottom Line:  It’s a nice pair of stockings, but they are not a perfect match for the outfit.

Location of Picture:  This picture was taken during a Maxim photoshoot in 2007.

Stockings:  Sarah is wearing black stockings that almost mirror those that Eliza Dushku is wearing in Maxim's photoshoot in 2009.  

Positioning:  She is laying out on the floor with broken items around her.  This implies that she has been busy 'breaking her back.' 

Outfit:  Sarah seems to be wearing similar stockings to those worn in Eliza Dushku's photoshoot shown below.  She is also wearing similar boyfriend short panties.  The main differerence is that in the shirt that she is wearing.  There are a lot of accessories worn and her shirt is pulled up to show her stomach.  Unlike Eliza, she looks like she is trying too hard to look sexy. 

Bottom Line:  Ditch the shirt and go with a simpler outfit!

Stockings:  She is wearing black thigh high stockings with thick garters.

Positioning:  She is laying on fur in provocative positions.  It seems very high class.

Outfit:  She is wearing a strapless bra and boyfriend short panties along with black stockings.  This outfit is perfect for a sexy night.

Bottom Line:  Perfect outfit!

Stockings:  This picture shows white stockings of unknown details. 

Positioning:  She is in a very awkward position.  The positioning makes her look super skinny- almost as though she is anorexic.

Outfit:  She is wearing a blue corset tha is connected to her stockings.  The corset does not include a push up and seems to pull her chest downward.  The material is slightly see through.  Her panties match her corset and look good with her stockings.

Bottom Line:  This outfit is perfect for spicing up a night with a significant other.

Stockings:  Anna Kendrick has gone with a plain pair of long black stockings for this photo shoot.

Positioning:  The way Anna is sitting is a little awkward, but is meant to portray a ‘mermaid’ look.  The way she is looking at the camera almost looks as though she has been drugged or is in a daze.

Outfit:  Her outfit is extremely balanced.  As you can see, her top has elements of black and tan just like her stockings.  The skirt that she is wearing is a lighter tan- used to break up the rest of the outfit without adding any additional colors to it.  The skirt also balances with all of the skin left uncovered.

Hair:  Anna’s hair is pulled back into a bun with her short layers left in the front.  Had her hair been left down, she would look a little more open and awake.

Bottom Line:  This outfit works if the wearer is planning on staying in with a partner.

Taylor Swift in Thigh High Stockings

Stockings:  From the looks of it, these stockings are more like knee high socks to me.  They might be considered knee high stockings, but I’m not sure.  The horizontal lines in her stockings make her appear shorter than she actually is.  This is a common trick used by stylists to break up different sections of the body.

Positioning:  Taylor is standing in a shy, about to go out, position.

Outfit:  Taylor Swift looks as though she is ready for a night out partying (not CMA partying but more like ‘22’ partying with her friends).  The bright color in her dress emphasizes her goal of having fun and creates contrast next to her darker stockings.

Shoes:  She is wearing a pair of black heels that match her stockings perfectly and look good with her dress.

Hair:  Taylor’s hair is gelled and curled which works perfectly for her ‘going out’ look.

Accessories:  To balance this outfit, I suggest a bigger necklace preferably with a purple stone or purple accent to balance out the purple stockings. 

Bottom Line:  This outfit is perfect for Taylor’s body shape.
